Bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX has announced that it will begin its fifth round of creditor repayments on July 31, 2026, distributing approximately $900 million as part of its ongoing restructuring process.

The latest payout is another major step in returning funds to customers and creditors following the exchange's collapse in 2022.

Who Will Receive Payments?

According to a statement from FTX Trading Ltd. and the FTX Recovery Trust, the upcoming distribution will include creditors with approved claims in both the Convenience and Non-Convenience classes under the court-approved restructuring plan.

Only creditors who completed all required pre-distribution requirements by the June 16 registration deadline will be eligible for this payment round.

Eligible claimants will receive their funds through their selected distribution partner:

  • BitGo
  • Kraken
  • Payoneer

FTX said the payment providers are expected to deposit funds into eligible accounts within one to three business days after July 31.

Preferred Shareholders Also Included

In addition to creditor payments, FTX confirmed that eligible preferred shareholders will receive their second distribution on the same date.

Payment Breakdown

The fifth distribution includes additional payments across several creditor classes:

  • Class 5A (Dotcom Customer Claims): An additional 9% payment, bringing total recoveries to 105% of approved claims.
  • Class 5B (U.S. Customer Claims): A 5% payment, increasing total recoveries to 105%.
  • Class 6A (General Unsecured Claims): A 3% payment, raising total recoveries to 103%.
  • Class 6B (Digital Asset Loan Claims): A 3% payment, bringing total recoveries to 103%.
  • Class 7 (Convenience Claims): Total recoveries for smaller claims will increase to 120%.

Future Payment Rounds

FTX said customers and creditors who want to receive payments in future distribution rounds must complete all required steps before the registration deadline.

These requirements include:

  • Completing identity verification (KYC)
  • Submitting all required tax forms
  • Registering with one of FTX's approved distribution partners: BitGo, Kraken, or Payoneer

The company added that future registration deadlines and payment dates will be announced at a later time.

Ongoing Recovery Process

The latest $900 million distribution marks continued progress in FTX's bankruptcy recovery efforts. Since launching its restructuring plan, the company has been working to return recovered assets to creditors through multiple payment rounds, with additional distributions expected as the process continues.
